Pay $18.25 - $19.00 an hour

The Accounting Specialist performs a full range of accounting functions for the Agency and its affiliates.  This includes calculation of revenue and expense entries into the General Ledger, implementation of departmental policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and CFR guidelines, and reconciliation of various Balance Sheet accounts.

 

Core Responsibilities

Prepare and enter approved journal entries. Analyze month to month expense trends and calculate expense accruals. Assist with the month end and year end closing process. Reconcile and analyze various Balance Sheet accounts. Provide backup to accounts payable. Complete seasonal and other projects as assigned by management, including but not limited to: CFR preparation and review AHCF Cost reporting General Ledger maintenance Process streamlining Software implementations

 

Qualifications

Minimum Associate’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance or related field with experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Prior accounting experience preferred. Valid NYS Driver's License.
