Accounting Specialist
Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team based in SCHAUMBURG, Illinois. This role involves various tasks related to accounting in a manufacturing environment setting. The successful candidate will handle responsibilities such as accounts payable and receivable, light reconciliation, invoicing, and system conversion. This is a short term contract employment opportunity that requires proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Accounting Functions, and AS400. Responsibilities: • Managing accounts payable and receivable to ensure all finances are up-to-date • Overseeing invoicing procedures to ensure timely and accurate billing • Conducting light reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy in all financial documents • Utilizing AS400 and other Accounting Software Systems to streamline and optimize accounting processes • Preparing for a system conversion to Infor in the upcoming year • Monitoring the financial status and transactions within the company • Supporting the financial decision-making process by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data • Ensuring all financial operations comply with federal and state laws • Resolving any discrepancies or issues related to the accounts payable and receivable • Assisting in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes if necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Functions • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Knowledge of Billing Functions is required • Familiarity with AS400 system is a plus • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
