Job Description:

Disbursement Services is accepting applications for Accounting Specialist. This position is part of the CFO's Division within the Finance & Accounting Department and will be responsible for all processes and functions relating to supplier maintenance.  The incumbent must be customer service focused, possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills, adhere to ethical standards and regulatory compliance with integrity and transparency, and embrace change as we create unique solutions to help our university to help our university grow. 

Expected Salary:

$46,000-$57,000

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Exceptional customer service Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in managing records Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently and accurately Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences Experience with UF processes and procedures, preferably with supplier maintenance Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Knowledge of Florida Statutes, Federal Regulations, University Board of Trustee rules, University Policy, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and IRS rules to ensure all suppliers (foreign and domestic) are established in accordance to University and legislative requirements

Advanced knowledge PeopleSoft and myUF Marketplace/Jaggaer Experience with IRS TIN Matching, GIACT, Dun & Bradstreet Hoovers, and Visual Compliance Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (Microsoft Office)

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a multi-faceted environment
