Accounting Specialist - Interview Happening This Week Location: Cranbury, NJ Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually (or $34 - $36 per hour) Position: Accounting Specialist Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team of four. This role is crucial in supporting our accounting functions and requires a candidate who is curious, eager to learn, and willing to go the extra mile. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable (AP), processing invoices, and data entry. Our ideal candidate will not only complete their tasks efficiently but will also actively seek additional responsibilities once their primary tasks are completed. Key Responsibilities: + Handle accounts payable (AP) and general accounting duties. + Process invoices and ensure timely and accurate data entry. + Communicate with vendors via phone and email to manage credit card reconciliations and follow up on late payments. + Ensure that credit card and check balances are accurate. + Perform basic Excel tasks and manage data entry of invoices. + Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Yardi, or Timberline (experience with SAGE ERP is preferred but not required). + Assist with payroll, billing, or job costing as needed. + Conduct filing and other administrative tasks. Requirements: + 5-10 years of experience in AP/accounting (exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered). + Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry or a related services industry. + Strong accounts payable (AP) experience, including processing invoices and vendor communication. + Proficiency in basic Excel skills. + Familiarity with ERP systems (SAGE ERP preferred, but other systems like SAP, Oracle, Yardi, or Timberline are acceptable). + Some formal education is preferred (associate degree or higher), but significant experience in the field will be considered. + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
