Our client, a leading nonprofit organization, is seeking a Accounting Specialist to join their team. As a Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities, which will align successfully with the organization.
**Job Title: Accounting Specialist**
**Location: Newburgh, NY**
**Pay Range:** $70,000
**What’s the Job?**
+ Ensure all cash is recorded and posted accurately, limiting unknown postings to no more than two weeks.
+ Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations of all bank accounts within ten business days of receiving statements, ensuring no outstanding checks exceed ten months.
+ Oversee and improve cash-flow reporting with the CFO to project two-week cash forecasts.
+ Process bi-weekly payroll for two organizations and manage associated payroll reports and payments.
+ Assist in monthly closings, including journal entries and preparing financial reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Director.
**What’s Needed?**
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, or Associate’s degree with comparable experience.
+ 2-4 years of accounting experience, including proficiency in QuickBooks and ADP.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience preparing payroll and financial reports.
