Description Expanding New York City organization is currently offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist. The role primarily involves managing customer applications, maintaining accurate records, and handling customer inquiries in a detail oriented and timely manner. You will also monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Responsibilities: • Efficiently process customer credit applications • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records • Resolve customer inquiries in a detail oriented and calm manner • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary • Handle data entry and invoice processing tasks • Use Microsoft Excel for account reconciliation and other related tasks • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable • Detail oriented handling and directing of phone calls • Take detailed messages and ensure they are delivered to the correct person Requirements • Possess at least 1 year of experience in the field of accounting or a related discipline. • Proficient in account reconciliation, ensuring all ledgers are accurate and up to date. • Competent in managing both accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including processing payments and chasing overdue invoices. • Experienced in handling billing procedures, including generating invoices and statements. • Capable of performing data entry tasks with high accuracy and speed. • Skilled in invoice processing, including verifying details and approving payments. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, perform calculations, and analyze data. • Experience with QuickBooks is preferred, including managing financial transactions and generating reports.
