Description
We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Knoxville, Tennessee, 37923, United States. The chosen candidate will play a key role in our accounting operations, including accounts payable and reconciliations. This role involves on-site work in a multi-entity organization, with the chance to participate in exciting projects such as the implementation of automated systems.
Responsibilities:
• Efficient and precise processing of invoices and managing accounts payable across multiple entity locations
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies related to payable or accounting processes
• Posting transactions to the general ledger, assisting with account reconciliations, and ensuring balance sheet integrity
• Minimal check printing but supporting a transition toward an automated payment system
• Contributing to the implementation of the Bill Pay feature to streamline the payment process
• Ensuring accurate submission and tracking of employee expense reports and reimbursement requests
• Using Microsoft Excel templates to track and allocate costs effectively
• Utilizing accounting software systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for efficient accounting operations
• Managing accounts receivable and billing functions
• Using Sage 50, Bill Pay, and Check Runs tools for financial transactions
• Operating automated billing systems and Microsoft Excel for tracking and creating/using templates.

Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential for this role.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required.
• The candidate should have experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is also needed.
• The applicant must be comfortable with Billing Functions.
• Knowledge in Sage 50 accounting software is a plus.
• The candidate should be familiar with Bill Pay procedures.
• Experience in handling Check Runs is necessary.
• The applicant should have experience in Automated Billing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for this role.
