Description Lindsey McCarthy with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Gowanda, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer and vendor transactions, and contributing to the efficiency of the accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Execute timely payments to vendors and manage accounts payable aging reports. • Verify vendor invoices, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and receipts, and resolve any discrepancies. • Reconcile the accounts payable subledger with the general ledger and manage accrual entries during month-end closing. • Prepare and issue precise customer invoices, post payments, and reconcile the accounts receivable subledger. • Monitor overdue invoices, initiate collections processes, and manage accounts receivable aging reports. • Resolve any inconsistencies in customer accounts, including handling returns, discounts, and chargebacks. • Support month-end/year-end closings with journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses. • Provide necessary documentation for audits and contribute to improving accounts payable/accounts receivable processes. • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other duties as assigned. • Utilize AS400 and ERP software for various accounting functions. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, able to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently • Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and record keeping • Proficient in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), with the ability to ensure timely payment of invoices • Skilled in Data Entry, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, able to use advanced functions for financial analysis and reporting • Experience in Collections, with the ability to manage and track overdue accounts in a detail oriented manner Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
