Description
We are looking to add an Accounting Specialist to our client's team based in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana. Working within the Real Estate Property Management industry, you will be instrumental in handling a variety of accounting-related tasks, including processing customer applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also play a key role in monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately processing customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date customer credit records
• Resolving customer inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate actions
• Downloading, reviewing, and coding bank activity from various banking sites
• Scanning tenant checks into banking software and processing payments to tenant ledgers
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies in tenant ledgers
• Preparing inputs for Accounts Payable, obtaining payment approvals, and coding into enterprise software
• Printing checks, mailing to vendors with necessary backup, and maintaining organized files for future reference
• Performing bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
• Posting recurring journal entries as part of the monthly accounting close process.
Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accurate financial records.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), managing outgoing payments and expenses.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), overseeing incoming payments and revenue.
• Capable of handling Billing tasks, including creating, sending, and tracking invoices.
• Excellent Data Entry skills, ensuring accurate and efficient input of financial data.
• Proficiency in Invoice Processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formula functions, and data analysis features.
• Familiarity with MRI Software, using it for property management accounting tasks.
• Experience with Yardi software, using it for property management and accounting tasks.
