Accounting Specialist
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the real estate property and facilities management industry, located in Houston, Texas, 77004, United States. Responsibilities: • Efficiently process invoices for multiple entities, ensuring they align with contracted terms and rates. • Prepare billing support documents for supervisor approval and manage weekly check runs for due invoices. • Maintain and manage the AP email inbox daily, ensuring prompt vendor communication. • Actively manage over 200 vendor relationships, including reconciling accounts and resolving any issues. • Regularly update the vendor spreadsheet for recurring bills and ensure all invoices are correctly coded. • Handle inquiries from vendors and correspond with the operations team regarding vendor payments and tenant ledger. • Oversee and process contract timesheet reporting and intercompany expense tracking. • Undertake job cost and project tracking, and manage project lien releases. • Process partner distributions and annual 1099s for multiple entities, ensuring deadlines are consistently met. • Assist with special accounting-related projects as required. • Post monthly rents and late fees in line with established policies. • Deposit tenant checks, collect on past due accounts, and process receipts upon receipt, reconciling with the Tenant’s account balance. • Maintain the Accounts Receivable sub-ledger and follow up on non-sufficient funds checks. • Participate in monthly AR meetings and closing meetings, and handle tenant inquiries. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is mandatory. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable. • Familiarity with Ceridian software is a plus. • Knowledge of Concur expense management software will be advantageous. • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required. • Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is essential. • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary. • Auditing skills and experience are highly valued. • Knowledge of Billing Functions is crucial. • Proficiency in QuickBooks is required. • Experience with Yardi property management software is desirable.
