Accounting Specialist
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the Construction/Contractor industry, located in Boerne, Texas. In this role, you will be fundamental to the financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and maintaining precise financial records in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Oversee financial aspects of construction contracts and generate reports on lien waivers, compliance, and project profitability • Maintain and update accurate accounting records, including payroll and job cost tracking • Monitor expenses related to construction projects, prepare detailed cost allocations, and assess alignment with project budgets • Generate and scrutinize financial reports, including Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and monthly project cost analysis • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations in all financial reporting • Assist in the creation and monitoring of project budgets, identifying potential cost overruns, and preparing financial forecasts • Discover opportunities for efficiency improvements in financial workflows and software usage • Display proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Utilize Quick Books accounting software and Microsoft Office software effectively • Simplify complex problems and devise solutions • Assist Project Managers with travel arrangements • Leverage strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in an Accounting Specialist role • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records. • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations to validate company's financial records. • Solid understanding of Bookkeeping principles and procedures. • Proven ability in Data Entry, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial data management and analysis. • Experience in Month End Close procedures to guarantee timely financial reporting. • Knowledge in processing Payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. • Proficiency in QuickBooks software for managing and processing financial data.
