Description As the Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for full cycle Accounts payable including entering invoices, reconciling statements, resolving discrepancies, and providing support to the Finance & Accounting Department. Additionally, this position will also be responsible for building key relationships with internal and external customers, as well as ensure compliance and drive department efficiencies. The Accounting Specialist will also participate in month-end and year-end activities. You will focus on + Full-cycle Accounts Payable processing including: + Receipt of invoices, purchase orders, and check requests + Review and coding of invoices, expense reports, and credit card purchases + Ensure that all invoices are reviewed and processed with accuracy + Timely preparation of batch check run, wire transfers, and ACH transactions + Assist with month end Accounts Payable close process + Generate 1099 reports at year-end + Investigate and resolve issues associated with processing of invoices and expense reports. + Vendor communication via telephone and email. + File and maintain accounts payable documents. + Maintain database of unclaimed property. + Communicate potential risks to the Controller and CFO as necessary. + Assist General Ledger accountants with monthly accruals. + Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail + Ability to meet deadlines + Performs other duties as required to support Accounting department. o Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements + BA or equivalent education and experience required + Required: 5 years prior experience (Preferred: Full cycle accounts payable experience) + Self-motivated and proactive team player who works independently and takes ownership of and accountability for assigned tasks. + Excellent time management skills, meets closing deadlines, detail oriented, and prioritization skills. + Excel in a fast paced, changing environment. + Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. + Creative, Problem-solving, and Innovation skills. + Ability to evaluate and refine processes to improve efficiency. + Results-oriented, critical thinker, problem solver. + Ability to interact and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external contacts to support compliance and high levels of service. + Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation. + Capable of conveying accounts payable concepts and issues to non-finance individuals.
