Accounting Supervisor – Government Grants
The Accounting Supervisor will oversee a team responsible for the financial management and reporting processes for federal grants received by all Southern Company system affiliates. This position will also support the financial compliance reporting requirements associated with any Department of Energy (DOE) Title XVII Loan Program funds received by Southern Company system affiliates. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred. + Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or related field. Experience in accounting and or reporting for federal grants as well as well as experience with leading people desired. + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. + Proficiency in Oracle, PowerPlan and Microsoft Office Suite preferred. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders and present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. + Proven ability to manage multiple projects and met deadlines in a fast-paced environment. **MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Oversee the reporting processes for all federal grants to ensure compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies. + Lead, mentor, and manage a team three staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. + Review and approve financial reports and grant submissions to federal agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and revenue to ensure proper allocation and utilization of funds. + Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration and coordination of grant-related activities. + Stay updated on changes in federal regulations and guidelines related to grant accounting and reporting. + Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in grant management and reporting.
