Accounting Supervisor
Summary of Position (Job Purpose)  -  Major purpose and functions of the position.
The Supervisor, Accounting Operations is primarily responsible for supervising the team responsible for applying all incoming funds (checks, wires, etc.) against accounts receivable balances and properly coding miscellaneous cash receipts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities  -  Primary responsibilities listed in order of importanceSupervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Operations department to ensure quality control and development for a team of approximately 2 team members.Review the work of the Accounting Associates with cash receipts and Accounts Receivable application responsibilities for completeness and accuracy, and provide direction, feedback, and additional training as needed.Assist the Tax Department in the preparation of Company-to-Company invoices and the related journal entries.Assist in the preparation of check and cash receipts for deposit at bank.Prepare numerous reconciliations for selected Balance Sheet Accounts.Prepare various Journal Entries, including Miscellaneous Deposits and Coupon Adjustments.Participate in the Accounts Receivable process, by supervising the cash receipts and Accounts Receivable application process, distributing relevant reports, and meeting with departments to review the status of outstanding balances.Recommend continual process improvements in the Accounting Department.Assist the Manager of Accounting Operations when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications  -  Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.Associates Degree in Accounting (or equivalent)3 – 5 years general accounting experience Excellent verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate Microsoft Excel skillsAttention to detailExperience with Infor-Lawson accounting softwareExperience with Blackline journal entry and reconciliation softwarePrevious experience in a leadership role
