The Accounting Supervisor performs intermediate to complex accounting functions while managing the daily operation of the Banking team. The Accounting Supervisor maintains records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, general ledger, and other financial activities. The role is responsible for auditing and verifying financial data, reconciling accounts and payments, and maintaining a variety of databases, accounts and files. This job classification performs advanced or specialized work that requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, current business practices and corporate, State, and Federal reporting regulations.

Responsibilities
Performs reconciliation of GL accounts including prepaids, accruals, assets, and liabilities. Reconciles, researches, and resolves discrepancies, makes corrections, documents, and verifies related accounts. Prepares journal entries and adjustments. Monitors deadlines and due dates. Produces quarter-end company consolidation. Assists Finance leaders with the year end audit and provides independent review of all business units financials. Provides leadership that represents Raley’s Leadership Traits and our values to inspire and empower the team. Oversees the daily operation of Banking team that is responsible for timely GL recognition, bank reconciliations; reviews work prepared by Specialists for accuracy and appropriate handling; ensures production requirements are completed within quality and time standards. Facilitates team efforts to identify process improvements. Interviews, selects, evaluates, and recognizes team member results and actions. Conducts training and supports the ongoing development of team members. Works closely with other departments to coordinate efforts and communicate changes. Acts as a resource to others on general to complex issues including Payroll, Accounts Payable and other financial areas; gathers documents and researches information to answer customer/vendor questions. Prepares a variety of spreadsheets, records, reports, invoices, and lists on a regular schedule. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and a minimum of three or more (3+) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with SAP or ERP system.Required Knowledge
General knowledge and understanding of the flow of Financial Statements, Balance Sheet, and Income Statements. Knowledge of general to complex accounting practices, methods, and procedures.Skills & Abilities
Ability to reconcile all types of accounts (prepaids, accruals, suspense, liability) and assist other team members when necessary. Ability to perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of accounts. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team environment. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to use PC-based databases including construction of data tables and queries preferred. Ability to train team members in proper accounting practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to present analysis and conclusions in a clear and concise format using charts and tables.
