JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Accountant interacts effectively with cross-functional teams, such as IT, Finance, Treasury, and AP. The Assistant Accountant should have a working knowledge of GAAP and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment. This person seeks professional development and can quickly understand broad objectives, work independently to achieve those objectives, and take the initiative to implement process improvements.  This person can be a student or new graduate.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist with daily sales audit and other tasks, as assigned. Collaborate with different functional teams to actively contribute to a disciplined financial statement close. Assist with month-end, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Review financial data for accuracy and integrity.  Analyze, prepare and record various general accounting journal entries.  Prepare variance analysis and supporting schedules on affected accounts. Perform reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts. Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on ad hoc basis. Assist in implementations of new policies and procedures. Assist with other projects as assigned. Maintain process documentation and ensure SOX 404 compliance

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or currently pursuing an accounting degree. Open to students or new graduates with no prior experience. Knowledge of Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) a plus, but not required. Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Must be detail oriented, deadline driven, organized and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical and proven problem-solving skills. Commitment to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines regardless of the obstacles. Highly motivated and dedicated to contributing to the success of the company.
