Role Purpose
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to process invoices efficiently and ensure prompt payments to suppliers, minimizing aged transactions. You will also investigate and resolve supplier queries, providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to provide outstanding service. Monitor supplier invoice mailboxes and process invoices within agreed SLAs using BASWARE scanning system. Match invoices with receipted Purchase Orders in FLEX accurately. Identify and resolve purchase order and supplier invoice mismatches by collaborating with operations. Address supplier issues such as missing purchase order numbers or incorrect company details. Submit weekly supplier BACS runs and reconcile monthly supplier statements in line with KPIs. Maintain Accounts Payable generic mailboxes and take ownership of assigned suppliers/entities. Ensure effective escalation of issues and work towards achieving service level targets. Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.
Experience & Skills Required:
Previous experience in Accounts Payable. Customer-focused approach, with the ability to handle internal and external queries efficiently. A collaborative team player with strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines. Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy. Capable of processing high volumes of transactions quickly and efficiently. Problem-solving abilities and intermediate Excel skills.
Qualifications Required:
5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A-C.
