Summary: As a member of the Martin’s Family, the Accounts Payable Clerk provides clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization and maintains accurate accounts payable records by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Matches, s cans and keys invoices into the accounts payable system.
Verifies invoices are accurate and complete before processing (including such things as coding, correct pricing, proper approvals and sales & use tax).
Sorts invoices according to due date and type.
Verifies invoices have the proper approval before submitting for payment.
Prepares accounts payable checks.
Maintains tractor trailer mileage records.
Disburses U.S. Postal mail to appropriate persons for approval, etc.
Answers vendor inquiries.
Assists with maintaining vendor records.
Prepares and processes invoices for payment.
Assists accounts payable supervisor and works on special projects, as necessary.
Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
Audits and verifies expense reports.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED;
Associate's degree (A. A.) ; or
O ne to three year s related experience and/or training .
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word .
Knowledge of Oracle database.
