Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. This role will require the candidate to attend to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department and work closely with the Accounting Manager. The candidate will primarily focus on matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / contract / temporary opening.
What you get to do every day
- Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
- Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
- Execute additional tasks as needed
- Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed
- Accomplish full-cycle A/P
- Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
- Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department Requirements - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- High attention to detail
- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Foundational knowledge in Invoice Payment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Voucher
- General familiarity with expense reports
- Deep understanding of Cash Payments
- Experience with Process Payments
- Bill Pay experience
- Adeptness in journal entries
