This position is responsible for processing high-volume Accounts Payable transactions on time. This includes completing a 3-way match of source records and processing warehouse and kitchen invoices, expense reports, and check requests.


The Sr. Account Payable Clerk is responsible for:

·         Have a complete understanding of the Verify and Optimize process.

·         Research and resolve vendor statement issues.

·         Communicate with vendors regarding documentation and other needs to ensure invoices are processed timely.

·         Coordinate vendor record updates with Warehouse Management and AP Manager.

·         Verify invoices and route them to the proper approver.

·         Process a high volume of invoices, while maintaining accuracy and confirming that each invoice was properly approved. Ensure invoices are posted in SAP in an accurate and timely manner.

·         Code or correct GL coding on check requests and other manually posted invoices.

·         Review payment proposals and make corrections to ensure accurate payments.

·         Support AP Manager with ad-hoc reporting and projects.

·         Escalate issues and problems to the Accounts Payable Manager promptly, including explaining the issue in sufficient detail so that the Accounts Payable Manager can efficiently correspond with the Vendor and Warehouses and determine a resolution.

·         Serve as backup to Accounts Payable Processor.

·         Respond to all vendor inquiries, emails, and phone calls within 1 business day.

·         Understand and comply with all Accounts Payable policies and procedures.

·         Serve as a backup for the rest of the team as needed.

·         Promote the Trader Joe’s Company culture by encouraging open communication, teamwork with fellow Accounting Crew Members, food, fun, and Hawaiian shirts.


The position requirements include:

·         High School Diploma required

·         Minimum of 5 years high volume invoice processing

·         Proven AP knowledge and experience at a large company

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·         Intermediate Excel skills

·         Working knowledge of automated SAP or other large ERP
