Accounts Payable Clerk

Aston Carter is looking to hire an experienced accounts payable professional for an opening in Miamisburg, Ohio!!

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring vendor invoices and expense reports are accurate and processed on time. This role also includes providing financial support for the monthly close and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

ResponsibilitiesReceive and verify expense reports; reconcile expense and other financial reports with account balances and office records.Facilitate payment of vendors, including verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identify discount opportunities, and issue purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.Record entry of, verify documentation for, and distribute petty cash.Calculate and report sales tax based on paid invoices.Review vendor invoices for accuracy, verify and allocate the correct cost center, sales tax, and other financial considerations.Match all production invoices with receiving documents.Coordinate with inventory control and vendors to resolve differences.Monitor the approval process: check, follow-up, and problem-solving for non-approved invoices.Support the weekly payment run and follow up on payments with vendors to resolve discrepancies.Check and resolve open purchase orders.Review all non-purchase order items and obtain department manager approvals to ensure proper authorization.Essential Skills2 to 3 years of Accounts Payable experience.Experience with MS-Office applications.Experience with ERP systems, particularly AX and Concur.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and be flexible where needed.Hands-on mentality, with a drive for getting things done.Team player with strong administrative efficiency and a drive for accuracy.Quality focus, committed to achieving high-quality standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work independently and under pressure.Excellent communication skills.Team player mentality.Strong administrative skills.Work Environment

This role involves working in an office environment with standard office equipment. The position requires the ability to meet strict deadlines and may involve some flexibility in working hours to ensure tasks are completed on time. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $54000.00

You are eligible to enroll in the company’s benefit plans if you are a regular, full-time employee scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week. As a
regular, full-time employee, you are eligible for benefits on your date of hire.
