Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to be an integral part of our team in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry, based in Victor, New York, 14564, United States. In this role, your primary function will be to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of payments to our vendors, while identifying and addressing any potential financial risks or savings. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor payments • Identifying and addressing any potential financial risks or savings • Auditing vendor invoices against service records and contract terms for accuracy • Breaking down invoice charges as per general ledger codes and escalating any potential financial risks to the management • Collaborating with Field/Regional Managers and Inside Operations Specialists for approvals and understanding of service records • Liaising with Procurement to confirm contract terms and rate packages • Becoming proficient in the details of properties such as equipment type and amount, contract status, and ongoing issues • Investigating, following up, and resolving any disputed issues with vendors • Coordinating with the Finance and Accounts Payable teams to ensure timely and accurate payments and resolve any disputed items • Responding to department and vendor inquiries accurately and promptly • Keeping organized and updated documentation supporting payment records, account reconciliation status, and disputes • Tracking and collecting recycle rebates • Performing monthly audits of properties to ensure all invoices have been received, audited, and paid Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Experience in Billing, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to company policies. • Ability to handle Cash Applications, managing financial transactions effectively. • Experience in Cash Collections, ensuring prompt and reliable revenue inflow. • Knowledge of Commercial Collections, taking care of business-to-business transactions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, enabling efficient data management and computation. • Familiarity with Oracle, ensuring effective database management. • Experience with QuickBooks, aiding in financial management and bookkeeping. • Proficiency in SAP, supporting efficient business operations and processes. • Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring prompt and accurate payment processing.
