Description We are in the process of expanding our team with the addition of an Accounts Payable Clerk in Newport News, Virginia, United States. This role will involve handling invoices for accounts payable, data entry tasks, and other clerical duties as part of our team's ongoing system migration. This exciting opportunity offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Efficiently handle the scanning of invoices for accounts payable • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for audit purposes • Assist in determining the team's headcount • Utilize data entry skills to maintain and update records • Perform filing duties to keep paperwork organized • Assist in stuffing checks and handling mail • Collate paperwork and verify data accuracy • Ensure the smooth running of operations from 9 am to 2 pm or 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday • Utilize Accounts Payable (AP) knowledge to understand and perform tasks effectively • Perform numeric data entry tasks as required. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar. • Knowledgeable in Accounts Payable procedures and best practices. • Proven experience in numeric data entry. • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office Suite. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors. • Good organizational and time management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's or bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred.
