Accounts Payable Clerk
Description Job Summary: Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily operations within the accounting department. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for an entry-level or early-career professional looking to build a foundation in accounting and finance. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Processing: + Assist in processing invoices, including data entry, coding, and ensuring accuracy in the accounting system. + Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts for validation. + Verify invoice details such as amounts, payment terms, and vendor information. Vendor Communication: + Respond to vendor inquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner. + Help resolve discrepancies in billing and payments under the guidance of senior team members. Record Keeping: + Maintain organized files for invoices, payment records, and vendor documentation. + Ensure records are updated regularly to support audits and internal reviews. Payment Processing: + Prepare payment batches for review and approval, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Monitor due dates and assist with scheduling payments to meet deadlines. Support Tasks: + Assist in month-end close activities, such as reconciling accounts payable records. + Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed. Requirements Qualifications: + 1-2 years of experience in an accounts payable or clerical accounting role preferred; recent graduates with internships or coursework in accounting will also be considered. + Basic proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) is a plus. + Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors and internal teams. + High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
