Description
We are offering a contract for an Accounts Payable Clerk position in New York with a growing and innovative startup company! As a crucial member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to managing and processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, and managing high volume email communication.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process and code invoices for payment.
• Set up new utility accounts for new locations through phone calls.
• Ensure prompt and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
• Manage high volume of email communication and assist vendors with their inquiries.
• Oversee the Travel & Expense platform and related processes including reviewing transaction codes, assisting with employee inquiries, and following up on missing receipts.
• Manage credit line for the Travel & Expense platform.
• Complete vendor credit applications when necessary.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for accounts payable.
• Perform vendor maintenance tasks such as onboarding new vendors, verifying W9, banking instructions, and contact information, and confirming changes to existing records verbally.
• Reconcile monthly statements and related transactions of vendor accounts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly accounts payable reports.
• Handle annual 1099 reporting.
• Participate in special projects, optimization initiatives, ERP enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role
• Proven expertise in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated ability to perform Check Runs and Coding Invoices
• Proficiency in Data Entry and Invoice Processing
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience with Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics Ax, Dynamics, and NetSuite is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
