Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be instrumental in maintaining financial records, including purchases, receipts, payments, and invoices. Your keen eye for detail and proficiency in accounting software will aid in our continued growth and success. Responsibilities: • Accurately enter and process vendor invoices in the accounting system • Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments, and check disbursements • Regularly review and verify invoices and payment requests for completeness and accuracy • Maintain the vendor database, adding new vendors, updating existing ones, and ensuring up-to-date information • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes by preparing accounts payable reports • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies • Respond swiftly and professionally to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve any issues • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and accounting standards • Support audit processes by providing requested documentation and assisting with account analysis • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts, ensuring proper documentation is maintained. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes • Demonstrable experience with check runs • Ability to accurately code invoices • High level of data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy • Experience in processing large volumes of invoices • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • A degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
