Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to become a part of our team in Erie, Pennsylvania. The role involves the careful management of accounting records, customer files, and financial transactions. This opportunity offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
• Carry out precise and efficient processing of customer credit applications.
• Keep up-to-date and accurate customer files, including changes in name or address, mergers, or mailing attentions.
• Aid in the reconciliation of accounting records and ledgers through the review of monthly statements and transactions.
• Oversee vendor payments, which includes the verification of federal ID numbers, scrutiny of purchase orders, and resolving any discrepancies.
• Guarantee the crediting of outstanding obligations upon payment, identification of discount opportunities, and issuing of purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as necessary.
• Document and verify customer payments and transactions related to Accounts Receivable.
• Produce invoices in line with company practices and send them to customers.
• Compile reports on the status of customer accounts as needed.
• Work with the Collections Manager and other staff to investigate discrepancies and past-due amounts in customer accounts.
• Participate in the creation of monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
• Support in the monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts under the supervision of the Accounting Manager.
• Manage the copying, filing, and retrieval of materials for accounts receivable as required.
• Communicate changes in information to the appropriate employees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required
• Must have prior experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Capable of managing Check Runs efficiently
• Familiarity with Coding Invoices is necessary
• Strong Data Entry skills are essential
• Experience in Invoice Processing is desired
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
• Knowledge of Oracle software is preferred
• QuickBooks experience is required
• Prior experience with SAP software is beneficial
