Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing high-volume accounts payable invoices, coding various financial documents, and handling vendor correspondence. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

ResponsibilitiesProcessing high-volume accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently.Coding invoices, vouchers, expense reports, and check requests with correct codes to ensure proper entry into the financial system.Attaching corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.Handling PO invoices, including 2 and 3-way matching.Investigating and resolving issues related to the processing of invoices and purchase orders.Handling vendor correspondence via phone or email.Receiving, researching, and resolving routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating resolution of discrepancies.Filing, maintaining, and distributing accounting documents, records, and reports.Assisting the AP lead with necessary duties, including supporting the department's effort to implement supplier ACH payments.Assisting with monthly status reports and monthly closings.Performing other duties as required to support the Accounting Department.Essential Skills1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting.Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems (preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills highly preferred.Experience in payables and receivables.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.Understanding and adherence to internal controls to maintain financial security.High School diploma/GED and typically 1 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate degree).Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of AP experience in a government contracting environment.Experience with Oracle, Costpoint, Netsuite, MS Dynamics.Excel pivot tables.Customer service experience.Work Environment

This role is on-site in Manassas, VA, with standard business hours from Monday to Friday. Some flexibility can be considered once the candidate is fully integrated into the role. The team size is 3, providing a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
