Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to be a part of our team in the Local Government sector, located in Manhattan Beach, California. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, your role will primarily involve handling and recording various financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in invoice entries, and managing check runs. This role provides a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Accurately handle the entry of invoices as part of accounts payable procedures. • Coordinate the process of check runs for accountants. • Manage the process of mailing outgoing checks in a timely and efficient manner. • Undertake administrative tasks as required. • Ensure accurate allocation of utility bills to respective accounts. • Enroll in PERS after completing 960 hours of service. • Work for 5-7 hours on a daily basis, ensuring all tasks are completed within stipulated timeframes. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) • Proficiency in inputting invoices into accounting software • Knowledge of local government financial procedures and regulations • Capability to maintain precise and comprehensive financial records • Strong numerical abilities for accurate data entry and calculations • Proficiency in using financial software and Office Suite • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple invoices and payments • Capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information • Strong communication abilities to liaise with suppliers and internal departments • Attention to detail to identify any discrepancies in invoices and payments.
