Accounts Payable Clerk
Description Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with expertise in accounts payable? If so, our client in San Diego is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working collaboratively while leveraging their accounting skills. Key Responsibilities + Enter, validate, and process high volumes of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and coding to appropriate accounts and cost centers. + Communicate with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and maintain positive working relationships. + Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers in a timely manner. + Audit and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies. + Perform account reconciliations, including vendor statements and accounts payable ledgers, to ensure the accuracy of financial records. + Ensure invoices and payments are coded and recorded in compliance with company policies and IRS regulations. + Maintain organized accounts payable files and documentation for audits and tax purposes. + Work closely with the accounting team to support month-end and year-end closing efforts, including accruals and reporting. Requirements + Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered. + 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role. + Previous experience in high-volume accounts payable environments is a plus. + Proficiency in accounts payable systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite). + Strong Microsoft Excel skills (basic formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP). + Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with vendors and internal teams. + General understanding of accounting principles, practices, and IRS Form 1099 preparation.
