Position: Accounts Payable Clerk

Department: Finance Department

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Full time, 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Reporting Relationship: Assistant Controller - Division

Salary and Grade:$24.38 per hour; 76, Non-Exempt

Position Overview:

Responsible for the processing of all phases of accounts payable to all Divisional funds. Maintains the accuracy of all disbursements entered into the Serenic accounting system.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:      

Review incoming invoices for completeness, approval, prior payment history.Resolve issues, discrepancies with vendor, program staff.Enter invoice data into accounting softwareEnsure W-9s are complete prior to new vendor set-upMail checks and file voucher copies with backup information Process remittances where applicableResearch statements, vendor inquiries, program inquiries, payment issuesBack-up accounts payable for Philadelphia & Corps fundsReview of SmartData transactions assuring accuracy of codingResponsible for monthly review and research of aged AP report old outstanding items, following up with responsible employeesResponsible for the processing of the Verizon billBack-up for Remote Deposit check captureSpecial projects and other duties, as assigned. Qualifications

Requirements:     

 A high school graduate; some college preferred, with emphasis in Finance/Accounting; or at least 5 years of equivalent experience.Broad knowledge of all accounting, financial, and business principles.Intermediate competency of computer software including Word and Excel.Strategic thinker and effective decision maker.Good oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple levels of operations.Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 along with renewals every five years.Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
