Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** + Accurately code and audit invoices, check requests, manual checks, physician payments, and employee reimbursements for timely approval by department directors and VPs. + Accurately and timely forward invoices, for Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and related entities to the Consolidated Service Center to avoid late charges. + Ensure Manual Checks greater than $10,000 are approved by Corp Treasury and have all proper supporting documentation. + Have a thorough knowledge of HCA Accounts Payable Policies Accounting Policy Guides and Travel Policy as they pertain to your job function. + Facilitate the development and maintain procedures, goals and objectives to meet the need of the department. + Ensure privileged and / or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure. + Follow-up with the Consolidated Service Center on items greater than 90 days on the OPAY and Suspended Voucher Reports. + Exercise discretion and independent judgement when fielding phone calls and questions about invoices from vendors, internal customers and the Consolidated Service Center while ensuring their resolution. + Respond timely to requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit and Hospital Management. + Assists with the planning and preparation of the annual budget. + Record accruals of unpaid invoices in a timely manner to accommodate the department’s month end close. + Manage time effectively so that deadlines are adequately met without undue stress to you and fellow team members. + Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved with open communication to immediate supervisor. + Communication with immediate supervisor as to daily planning of departmental goals. + Prepare reconciliations of the Accounts Payable account and system and provide required support needed for the facility SOX requirement. + Save electronic copy of the OPAY, Suspended, CUP Audit and GL transactions report once AP closes at the end of the month. + Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential safety issues and employee injuries timely within 24 hours to supervisor and injury coordinator. + Obeys safety policies and uses lift equipment, maxi slides and assistance from coworkers when necessary. + Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm. + Performs other duties as assigned by management. **What qualifications you will need:** + High School Graduate / GED + Minimum one year accounting experience, preferably in Accounts payable.
