Accounts Payable Lead
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join our Finance Team and lead our invoice processing operations. This strategic position oversees a team of professionals while ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all accounts payable processes. The role combines team leadership, process optimization, and financial operations management.
Key Responsibilities
+ Direct and mentor a team of 3-4 invoice processing professionals
+ Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback
+ Manage departmental attendance and scheduling
+ Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely processing of high-volume transactions
+ Review and approve invoice discrepancies and payment adjustments
+ Manage vendor relationships and resolve complex payment issues
+ Lead monthly and year-end reconciliation processes with Central Inventory Control
+ Coordinate with Distribution Center, Stores, and Inventory Control on Direct Receipt corrections
+ Generate and analyze key departmental reports on a 5-week rotation
+ Monitor and resolve aged payables to maintain healthy vendor relationships
+ Partner with internal/external auditors during annual audits
+ Participate in systems testing and implementation of new AP technologies
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
+ Manage approval workflows in the Invoice Match system
+ Process vendor adjustments and maintain accurate vendor records
Required Qualifications
+ 5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills
+ Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff
Technical Skills
+ Proficiency in Oracle PeopleSoft Financials (preferred)
+ Intermediate Excel skills
+ Experience with automated payment systems and ERP platforms
