Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Accounts Payable Lead for our Milling division based in Cambridge, ON.P&H MillingP&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

This role also involves performing key accounting functions and providing support to the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced finance environment.Day to DayManage vendor portals to ensure receipt and download of all invoices.Monitoring the full AP cycle to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.Maintain vendor accounts, including updates to payment methods and vendor information.Monitor AP Aging across all locations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.Foster strong vendor relationships by managing the inquiry email and ensuring prompt, professional responses.Ensure proper coding of invoices and expense reports, assigning correct GL accounts.Assist with training new staff members in AP procedures.Code and post expenses in the system, ensuring approvals are in place prior to processing.Follow up on coding and invoicing discrepancies for resolution.Conduct monthly vendor statement reconciliations and clean-up.Prepare monthly AP accruals for accurate financial reporting.Participate in AP projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.Assist with tax filings (HST, GST, PST), interim and year-end audits.Required QualificationsA minimum of 4-5 years working in an Administrative or Accounting rolePost-secondary education in Business or Accounting Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced team environment and meet important deadlinesExceptional time management and prioritization skillsDetail-oriented and ability to handle work accurately and efficientlyAble to adapt to process changes and quickly learn new accounting systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Work and grow with a family-owned company.
