Accounts Payable Manager
Description This is a 90-95% remote job! Only candidates that live in NY State will be considered. You'll have to go to the office about 2-3 times a month. Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that has a newly created AP Manager hiring need. This company has very good benefits and great work life balance. The primary function of this role is to spearhead and manage the accounts payable department, ensuring the precise and prompt processing of all vendor invoices and payments. This role also includes maintaining robust vendor relationships, leading a team of AP professionals, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Responsibilities: • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. • Overseeing the daily processing of vendor invoices, guaranteeing timely and accurate coding, approval, and payment. • Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of accounts payable staff, striving for continuous development and high performance. • Utilizing ERP and financial systems to manage the accounts payable function, ensuring data accuracy and integrity through regular system audits and reconciliations. • Managing payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments. • Reviewing and improving AP processes, policies, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. • Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies. • Serving as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and issue resolution. • Preparing and reviewing reports related to accounts payable, cash requirements, and aging analysis. • Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes. • Providing insights and recommendations to management based on AP metrics and trends. • Implementing automation tools and technology to streamline AP processes.
