Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description This position is responsible for performing a variety of assigned duties involving clerical postings, verification, and accounts payable procedures. Additionally, this role entails a variety of activities pertaining to accounts receivable, including the preparation and mailing of invoices and monthly statements to customers. Hard Skills + Accounts Payable + Invoice processing + Experience in Manufacturing environment Additional Skills & Qualifications Accounts Payable Duties: • Calculates, posts and verifies financial data for use in maintaining accounting records • Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions • Issues check runs weekly according to IOB’s approved processes • Reconciles company credit cards • Obtains Federal Tax ID from vendors for 1099’s. • Verifies and posts details of business transactions such as funds disbursed • Computes and records charges, refunds, freight charges, rentals and similar items • May prepare vouchers, invoices, account statements, reports and other records • Process and submit accounts payable payment selection for approval to the Director of Finance and IT and Senior Accountant • Three-way match and process including inventory purchase order receipts and accounts payable invoices, verifying quantity and price data • Processes non-inventory accounts payable for payment • Researches vendor statements, past due notices, credit balances and inquires as required • Performs monthly or as required reconciliation of open accounts payable files to subsidiary ledger • Maintains accounts payable document files • Maintains vendor master files • Prepares accounts payable for month-end closing • Obtains prior approvals for Non PO invoices such as utilities, temp labor, etc. • Performs these and other duties as directed Job Type This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
