Accounts Payable Specialist
Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description Invoice processing (roughly 500/week). Spend your day working with markets on urgent payment requests and issuing payments daily. This role involves less coding of invoices and more addressing issues and making actual payments. It includes some data entry of invoices, but is primarily focused on payment processing. We are looking for someone who can handle multiple tasks simultaneously without getting overwhelmed and who ‘comes from a place of Yes’ when faced with challenges. High attention to detail is essential. - Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment - Monitors priority check request email box daily; Handles multiple urgent requests as they arise - Acts as liaison between corporate and field; including researching issues prior to payment - Answers vendor and market inquiries - Maintains and compiles accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and records - Distributes signed checks; Assembles and processes overnight shipments to branches and vendors - Creates ACH uploads for the bank daily - Researches status of payable in the process chain - Assists in monthly closings by posting all invoices received by the last day of the month - Analyzes accounts to assist vendors in reconciling differences between our records and theirs, as required - Identifies and corrects potential opportunities to minimize expenses - Follows up with various properties on outstanding Security Deposits Hard Skills + Invoice processing + Data entry + Payment processing + Excel Soft Skills + Self-directed ability + Customer service focus + Attention to detail + Handling tough situations Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Greenwood Village, Colorado and some days remote. Work Environment The accounting department has a total of 20 people (AP, AR, & GL) with lots of opportunities to advance. The AP team consists of 5 members. Required to work on-site in the DTC office until fully trained (roughly 30 days), after which there is an opportunity to work from home 2-3 days/week, depending on agreement with management and training progress.
