Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the retail industry, located in Portland, Maine. The role is primarily focused on managing and processing customer credit applications, maintaining precise customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries. The chosen candidate will also be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and taking corresponding action. Responsibilities: • Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner • Keep track of customer credit records, ensuring they are up-to-date and precise • Address and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary • Operate accounting software systems effectively to perform accounting functions • Execute account coding tasks accurately to ensure proper categorization of expenses • Utilize knowledge of accrual accounting to maintain accurate financial records • Collaborate with the team to achieve smooth operations within the accounts payable department • Be proficient in using ADP - Financial Services, Sage for efficient and timely processing of payments • Leverage skills in Accounts Payable (AP) to handle all AP related tasks and functions. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems. • Demonstrated ability to perform Accounting Functions. • Prior experience in Accounts Payable (AP) management. • Knowledge and practice of Accrual Accounting. • Familiarity with retail industry accounting practices. • Excellent numerical and analytical skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
