Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the public sector located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The role focuses on processing and managing invoices, maintaining financial records, and assisting in various accounting functions. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment. Responsibilities: • Accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications. • Assisting with general ledger work and reconciliations. • Handling check runs and cutting checks. • Processing approximately 30 invoices on a weekly basis. • Maintaining accurate customer credit records. • Assisting in entering grants when required. • Use of Bill.com QuickBooks for various accounting tasks. • Regularly communicating with managers for approval on financial matters. • Utilizing skills in Account Coding, Accounting Software Systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning. • Applying knowledge of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accrual Accounting to daily tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding and understanding its principles • Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems for efficient workflow • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, to manage day-to-day business activities • Ability to perform all essential Accounting Functions accurately • Hands-on experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting and its application in financial processes • Government industry experience is a plus • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Detail-oriented and highly organized • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
