Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist who will join our team in the construction industry based in the greater Medway Massachusetts area. This role is instrumental in handling and processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth financial operations within the company. Responsibilities: • Review invoices to ensure accurate documentation and approval before payment • Prioritize invoices according to payment terms • Efficiently process check requests and weekly check runs • Conduct audits and process credit card bills • Match invoices to checks, obtain signatures for checks, and distribute checks as needed • Maintain both electronic and paper records of customer credit applications • Respond to vendor inquiries through email and phone • Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct any discrepancies • Assist in month-end closing processes • Assist in the monthly sales tax filing process. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within the construction or contractor industry • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures • Familiarity with Form 1099 and IRS W-9 Forms is essential • Experience with managing company credit card charges, payments, and reconciliation • Knowledge of check runs and electronic payments • Understanding of manufacturing industry transactions will be advantageous • Experience with 3 Way Matching in invoice processing • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive financial information • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven analytical skills with a strong attention to detail • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
