Accounts Payable Specialist
Description: Objective The Account Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing all daily transactions which includes interfacing data from our main frame AS400. Process payments in a timely manner, assuring that backups correspond to checks produced and communicate in a professional manner with the business partners regarding any related discrepancies to the flow of account payable. Match backup and mail checks when they are produced. Research inquiries and resolve related discrepancies. Please note that this description is not all-encompassing as other ad hoc tasks are expected of the position. Essential Functions • In charge of interfacing the following processes: • National Account Payment Listings and Independent Shops - Weekly • Purchasing Queue – Daily • Settlements – Weekly • Discount Vendors – Weekly • HelpDesk including vendor setup and IRS vendor TIN verification • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency. Other Duties • Proven working experience as Accounts Payable specialist in a fast-paced environment. • Must have acumen in Accounts Payable practices and principles. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Specifications Position Type/Standard Schedule: This is a Full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Education & Experience • High school graduate. • 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable in a heavy volume environment. JD Edwards and AS400 skills required. • Excellent computer, communication and analytical skills. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes.
