We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Milford, Connecticut. As part of our team, you will be instrumental in handling vendor bills, managing discrepancies, and streamlining our accounts payable processes. This role is vital in our organization, helping us maintain accurate records and ensure efficient financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Handle vendor bill processing with efficiency and accuracy
• Manage inquiries from team members and vendors, ensuring minimal disruption to the accounts payable process
• Implement changes to how vendor bills are handled, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce discrepancies
• Assist in breaking down the team's tasks, facilitating smoother operations and better workload distribution
• Resolve discrepancies that may halt processing, such as un-received items, pricing issues, or problems with purchase orders
• Utilize strong communication skills to resolve issues, whether it's by picking up the phone or walking down the hall to speak directly with team members
• Leverage basic Excel skills to track and document issues and resolutions
• Use problem-solving skills to address issues on the accounts payable side, similar to a collector's role but focused on problem resolution for accounts payable
• Use your understanding of basic accounts payable processes to navigate daily tasks and challenges
• Utilize various accounting software systems and tools, such as ADP - Financial Services, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, to carry out responsibilities.
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is required.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is necessary.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential.
• Knowledge of Concur software is desirable.
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Accounting Functions is crucial.
• Extensive experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required.
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting is necessary.
• Auditing skills are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) is a plus.
