Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist for our operations in Bloomfield, Connecticut. This role is integral to our team, with responsibilities including processing new orders, maintaining accurate records, and resolving inquiries. This role is situated within the construction industry and requires strong knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Sage 300. This is a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Process and verify new orders, ensuring accuracy in price and details • Maintain and update records related to accounts payable • Handle customer inquiries and provide appropriate resolutions • Oversee account coding and ensure it aligns with accounting functions • Leverage knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to streamline processes • Manage tax exemptions and lean waivers • Conduct auditing of account processes to ensure compliance • Operate Automated Clearing House (ACH) for financial transactions • Collaborate with the controller for efficient account management • Adapt swiftly to changes and uncertainties in the workplace. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding, with the ability to accurately categorize expenses and transactions. • Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, demonstrating the ability to use these systems effectively and efficiently. • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, showing a comprehensive understanding of how to utilize these systems in a business context. • Thorough understanding of Accounting Functions, being able to execute day-to-day financial operations seamlessly. • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), demonstrating the ability to handle company expenses professionally and accurately. • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting, showing the ability to recognize and record financial transactions when they occur, regardless of when cash is exchanged. • Experience in Auditing, demonstrating the ability to review and verify the accuracy of financial records. • Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH), showing the ability to manage electronic money transfer transactions effectively.
