Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role, within the finance industry, offers a long-term contract employment opportunity with a mix of office and remote work. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be tasked with various responsibilities revolving around accounts payable invoicing and related duties, collaborating with internal and external teams, and ensuring accuracy in all processes. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications • Ensure the validity and completeness of data through careful analysis • Participate in division-wide processes, such as balance maintenance • Collaborate on team projects to streamline processes and analyze root causes • Review adjustments submitted by customer service for accuracy before system entry • Resolve day-to-day process issues, including system data transmission and freight processing • Generate and manage monthly vendor reports and address any vendor inquiries or account-related issues • Maintain accurate customer credit records • Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate actions as needed. Requirements • The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role. • Proficiency in account coding is essential. • Solid understanding and experience with accounting software systems is required. • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is crucial for this role. • The candidate must be familiar with Concur. • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary. • The permanent staff member must be capable of performing all accounting functions. • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) is a fundamental requirement. • The candidate must have a strong background in accrual accounting. • Auditing skills are crucial for this role. • Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes is required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
