Description A client of ours in the construction industry is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for their location based in The Woodlands, Texas. They are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity where the ideal candidate will have the chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: + Enter and code invoices into the accounting system on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Review all accounts payable invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. + Analyze and resolve outstanding vendor invoices/statements to ensure timely and accurate payments. + Run weekly accounts payable aging reports and create check run batches, selecting invoices to be paid. + Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. + Provide operational support to the Operations team as needed. + Organize and maintain accounts payable files, including invoices, vendor forms, W9s, lien waivers, subcontractor agreements, and certificates of insurance. + Sort and distribute incoming mail. + Support the month-end close process under the direction of the AP Manager. + Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Qualifications: + Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable (required). + Experience in the construction industry (preferred). + Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (ability to navigate spreadsheets, use formulas, etc.). + Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Familiarity with Acumatica and HCSS software is a plus. + High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. + Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines. + Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. + A team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
