Description Our client in Downtown Houston is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your QuickBooks expertise, accounts payable experience, and Excel skills in a dynamic and growing organization. Responsibilities: This role will be responsible for full-cycle Accounts Payable functions, including but not limited to: + Managing biweekly payable cycles of approximately 60 invoices. + Pulling ACH payments, posting payments, creating Accounts Payable spreadsheets for management review and approval. + Processing payments, printing checks, and maintaining accurate payment records. + Researching and resolving vendor inquiries and following up as necessary. + Handling mail-related tasks such as sending letters and documentation. + Performing reconciliations as needed. + Generating reports in QuickBooks Online (transitioning to Sage Intacct in the coming months). + Collaborating with team members and managers to ensure timely and accurate processing of all payables. Requirements To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must have: + QuickBooks Online expertise: Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online (experience with Desktop, especially newer versions, is acceptable). Comfort navigating and troubleshooting within QuickBooks is essential. + Full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) experience: Solid knowledge of AP processes, from invoice receipt to payment posting, is critical. + Excel skills: Proficiency in Excel, including creating spreadsheets with formulas, formatting, and data organization, is required. + Bonus: Experience performing reconciliations is a plus! Top Skills/Attributes: + Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. + Attention to detail to ensure accurate data input and reporting. + Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.
