Description
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Brea, California. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoice payments, and managing vendor relationships. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity where you will play a crucial role in our accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately record corporate expense invoices and maintain related records.
• Set up and manage recurring corporate expense transactions.
• Handle accrual of use tax on exempt or non-collected sales tax purchases.
• Ensure timely payment of all bills to prevent overdue situations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
• Process positive pay exceptions and manage new vendor accounts.
• Execute weekly check runs and initiate ACH/wire transfers for expense payments.
• Support the month-end close process.
• Reconcile AP accounts and prepare corporate card admin expense reports.
• Assist with business license renewals and 571-L property tax return preparation.
• Reconcile year-end 1099 payments report for preparation and filing.
• Provide necessary documentation to accountants and auditors for internal and external audits.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Coding is required.
• Must have experience with Accounting Software Systems.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is expected.
• Ability to handle various Accounting Functions is crucial.
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is a requirement.
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting is desired.
• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes is essential.
