Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the non-profit sector, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries in a team-based workplace.
Key responsibilities:
• Handle the daily or as required remote deposit process.
• Undertake accounts payable tasks such as coding, sorting, entering, and processing invoices in MIP on a daily basis.
• Manage Hybrent invoices, which includes importing into MIP and vendor payments.
• Provide backup for Hybrent to assist Health Center Managers with purchasing needs.
• Oversee credit card expenses, including identifying project and grant codes and preparing journal entries for card expenses.
• Execute the cash expenses and reimbursements process.
• Set up vendors on electronic payments.
• Make NC and SC Sales Tax payments as scheduled.
• File invoices for fixed assets and prepaid expenses in the relevant folders for month-end close.
• Carry out 1099s processing.
• Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by the Controller and CFO. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding, with an ability to quickly and accurately apply correct codes to various transactions.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, with a preference for those who have experience with industry-standard software.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions, including but not limited to budgeting, financial reporting, and tax preparation.
• Extensive experience with Accounts Payable (AP), preferably within a non-profit setting, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the AP cycle from invoice receipt to payment.
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting, with an ability to accurately record revenues and expenses in the period they are earned or incurred.
• Experience with Auditing, with a focus on internal audits of financial statements and accounting records, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and discrepancies.
• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, with a preference for those who have managed high-volume ACH payment processing.
