Description Job Opportunity: Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract) Location: Downtown Houston, TX Type: Contract (4-6 months) Are you a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) professional with exceptional attention to detail and a knack for accuracy? Our client in Downtown Houston is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a 4-6 month contract basis. Key Responsibilities: + Invoice Processing: Verify billing, amounts, and ensure no invoice details are overlooked. + Discounts & Payment Coordination: Analyze invoices to ensure no potential discounts or payment terms are missed. + Daily Payment Processing: Manage bill payments for 12-15 entities daily, working closely with the treasury manager to coordinate spend amounts and approvals. + Team Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with field staff to address potential errors and streamline information-sharing. + General Ledger (GL) Support: Apply light GL knowledge to understand the impact on subledgers and overall financial data Requirements What We’re Looking For: + Experience: Strong background in accounts payable is essential; must be able to “hit the ground running” with minimal training. + Attention to Detail: Possess a sharp, analytical mindset for identifying missing details and errors ("hawk-like" attention to discounts and billing accuracy). + Communication Skills: Ability to build camaraderie with field teams and maintain great customer service etiquette. + Education: A degree is not required but a plus—your skills and experience speak louder!
