Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
Description Our client is currently in need of an Accounts Payable Manager to join their construction/property development/property management team on a contract to possible full-time basis. Your primary responsibilities will include managing accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, and compliance with financial policies. Responsibilities: • Supervise and train Accounts Payable team members to foster detail oriented growth, ensure accountability, and achieve department goals • Manage the weekly imports and reconciliation of Concur files into the company's accounting software • Oversee and be responsible for the weekly accounts payable check runs, including generating the check runs • Review and approve the set-up of all new vendors • Monitor vendor relationships and accuracy in payment systems, assists with vendor ACH payment setups • Manage the month-end close requirements for Accounts Payable using the Monthly Import Checklist • Responsible for the annual 1099 reporting • Assist with internal (SOX) and external audits for Accounts Payable items (invoices and checks) • Document processes and procedures for cash disbursements and importing of Concur data • Oversee and review multiple bank reconciliations, work with staff on reconciling items and escheating old outstanding AP checks • Handle monthly Cash items and reporting requirements • Participate in making treasury management enhancements for accounts payable • Assist with other accounting duties as needed for cross-training of tasks Requirements • Candidate should possess a minimum of seven years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably as a supervisor or manager. • Proficiency in Concur software is a requirement for this role. • Must possess extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and practices. • A solid understanding of accrual accounting principles is mandatory. • The role demands experience in auditing procedures and practices. • Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processing is necessary. • The candidate should be skilled in account reconciliation procedures. • Experience in performing bank reconciliations is required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must for this role. • The candidate should be able to handle month-end close processes efficiently. • Familiarity with Form 1099 procedures is necessary. • Experience in reconciling vendor statements is a requirement for this role. • The candidate should possess strong vendor management skills. • Vendor relationship management experience is a requirement for this role. • The role demands experience in managing check runs. • Knowledge of Positive Pay practices is necessary. • Experience in treasury management is a requirement for this role.
